SeaWorld Aquatica

As the Turn-Key EPC Contractor, Helix Electric joined forces with Onyx Renewable Partners L.P. to bring sustainable energy to SeaWorld Aquatica, just in time for the park to enter it’s sixth season in Chula Vista. A total of 3,780 solar panels were installed at SeaWorld Aquatica equaling 1.26MWdc of renewable energy.

Besides providing over 400 shaded parking spots for guests and employees, the new solar carport systems will power 80 to 90 percent of SeaWorld Aquatica’s annual energy use. The renewable energy from the sun will reduce CO₂ emissions by more than 10,000 metric tons over the life of the system, which is approximately 20 years.
