DISA UPS and Generator Upgrade- Building 857

The Maxwell AFB Gunter Annex Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) facility, located in Montgomery, Alabama, is the information technology hub for all of the Air Force’s activities. The hub includes DISA’s Core Data Center which manages 6.9 million medical records for the Department of Defense, technical support for 600,000 warfighters and other critical functions. The DISA UPS and Generator Upgrade Bldg. 857 project consisted of a new medium voltage distribution, new double-ended main-tie-main switchgear dedicated to new UPS system, replacement of existing rotary UPS with new static, double-conversion system with battery backup, construction of new battery room and UPS room, to include HVAC and lighting, replacement of existing diesel generators and paralleling switchgear with larger system, and modification/expansion of building automation system (BAS) to include all new equipment.
